Organizing a food drive is a great way to make a difference and support the community while building teamwork, leadership, and empathy. Whether you're a business, school, service group, church, or group of individuals, hosting a food drive is an excellent way to build morale.


Planning & Advertisement

Food drives are simple to host; all you have to do is pick a date, time, and location for your food drive. Once you have these details set, spread the word about the initiative with folks in your school/workplace/community by creating posters and social media posts about the event. Don’t forget to tag us on Facebook and Instagram - @yxefoodbank and use the hashtags #yxefoodbank #yxecommunity #yxefooddrive. Feel free to use our logo in the promotional material, which you can find along with our brand guidelines in our Media Room.

Barrel Requests

Once you have the food drive event details finalized, you can contact us to request a food barrel to be used to collect donations. These barrels are 35” tall & 23” in diameter. Our warehouse staff is available for barrel drop off/pick-up during our regular hours of operation. To request a barrel, please fill out the form below and we’ll email you to confirm.

Barrel request forms must be submitted a minimum of 2 business days prior to requested drop off/pick-up date.

Note: We are primarily scheduling barrel drop off/pick-up on Tuesdays and Thursdays.


After the Food Drive

Alternatively, you may decide that the barrels too large for your food drive and may want to collect the food items in your own cardboard box(es). If you choose to collect the food items without the use of the barrels, please bring the donations to our warehouse at 202 Ave C S.
