Christmas Basket Day at the Saskatoon Food Bank

Each year the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre distributes Christmas food baskets to seniors and single adults who might not otherwise be able to enjoy a special holiday meal.  Although families can register at various community agencies and churches for assistance over the holidays, options are limited for seniors and single adults.

Over 2400 people chose either chicken or ham this past Saturday Dec. 14th, as part of our annual Christmas Basket Day. We would like to extend a big thank-you to the Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan along with Sofina Foods for their donation of chicken, Jules and Annette Calyniuk for their donation of christmas hams, Les and Irene Dube for their donation of apples and oranges and Sobeys and Saputo for their discounts on bread and milk. The Saskatoon and District Kinettes also volunteered and donated warm winter clothes.

We would also like to extend a very BIG thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers who came out to help on this special day. We think you're AMAZING!
