Grow a Row for the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre!
Gardens are in full bloom across Saskatoon and gardeners might find themselves with extra veggies from the garden this time of year. We are happy to find a home for these vegetables at the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre. You can donate your fresh produce from the garden. No amount is too small.
What produce do we accept?
Produce that is easily handled and easily stored makes a great donation to the Saskatoon Food Bank. Root crops such as potatoes and carrots are nutrient dense and full of flavour. Onions taste great and have literally layers and layers of health benefits. Cucumbers, zucchini and squash are accepted as well as tomatoes, peppers, radish, beets, and fruit such as apples and pears.
Delicate Leafy greens can be difficult for us to store, though kale and chard, as well as head lettuce and cabbage make great donations.
Thank you for thinking of the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre for your garden veggie surplus this year.
Please drop produce off at the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre, located at 202 Ave C S. You may take to the warehouse doors or deliver to the donation bin located through the main office doors.
