Christmas Basket Day

Each year the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre distributes Christmas food baskets to seniors and single adults who might not otherwise be able to enjoy a special holiday meal.  Although families can register at various community agencies and churches for assistance over the holidays, options are limited for seniors and single adults. We anticipate around 2,500 people will benefit from the Christmas baskets this year.  All of this wouldn't be possible without tremendous support from volunteers and sponsors.  This year the Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan and Lilydale donated chickens, Julius and Annette Calyniuk donated hams, and Les and Irene Dube donated fresh apples and oranges.  The Saskatoon and District Kinettes also volunteered and donated warm winter clothes.
