Celebrate National Volunteer Week

National Volunteer Week in Canada (April 12th to 18th, 2015) is a time to acknowledge those wonderful people who donate their time to organizations across the country. The Saskatoon Food Bank is honored to have so many great volunteers who help out in all areas of our organization. Over the next week we will talk with some of our volunteers to gather their thoughts about their volunteer experience at the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre.

Kristina

What motivates you to keep volunteering at the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre?

A bunch of small things made into a package: the people and environment around here are very welcoming and understanding. Nicest people.

One thing that you like about volunteering at the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre?

The package and it makes you feel good. The flexibility of being able to volunteer any time and getting here is a nice ride on the bus.

Can you talk a little bit about your experience volunteering at the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre?

My 1 year anniversary in a week and a half. The work environment is quite relaxing. Everything about it feels nice. Even the thick or thin of the weather I still want to be at the Food Bank. It’s worth going through winter. volunteers brighten lives
