Let’s throw it back to summer 2018 when we welcomed our good friends from Loraas Disposal as they rolled in with their fourth annual donation.
After learning of the increased demand the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre experiences each summer, Loraas employees chose to host this month-long initiative in July rather than their usual date in December.
For the month, Loraas employees collected non-perishable food items and raised funds to donate towards their Hunger Doesn’t Take a Vacation Campaign. Loraas Disposal matched their employee’s efforts, resulting in a donation of over 3,342 lbs of food.
“Loraas Disposal is proud to support the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre in times of need.” says Aaron Loraas, Vice President of Loraas Disposal. “We understand that hunger doesn’t take a vacation and summer can be tough on families. We are happy to do our part to support our community.”
“Loraas Disposal’s donation comes at a much needed time.” says Laurie O’Connor, Executive Director of the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre. “Loraas Disposal has been a great supporter of ours for many years and we are so appreciative of their continued generosity.”
In addition to the food donation, Loraas continues to offer the food bank its annual in-kind waste and recycling service.
